Belhelvie
Improvement Priorities
A Meeting took place in the Belhelvie Community Centre (Green Hut) on Thursday 24 March to set the improvement priorities for Belhelvie village. A report will appear here in due course.
How To Find Us
Belhelvie lies approximately a mile inland from Balmedie. The village was extended in the first part of the 20th century with the construction of workers homes for a new large granite quarry which still dominates the skyline today. Over the latest thirty years a number of small residential schemes have been built on the eastern edges of the old village.
Properties
It is a mainly residential area covering both the village and a number of rural properties.
Public Transport
The bus service is somewhat limited, particularly at weekends and most residents use private cars for transport.
Shops and Services
There is a garage in the old village and a Community Hall beside the bowling green just north of the village. The primary school is at Balmedie and secondary school children are bussed to Aberdeen. The local doctors' surgery is in Bridge of Don although some residents may use the same practice's surgery at Udny Station or the alternative Medical Centre at Ellon.
