Improvement Priorities
A Meeting took place in Balmedie School on Thursday 21 April to set the improvement priorities for Blackdog village. A report will appear here in due course on the outcomes and actions from the meeting.
How To Find Us
Blackdog village lies to the East of the Aberdeen/Ellon dual carriageway just over the Aberdeen City boundary. It will mark the Northern end of the new Aberdeen ring road and is proposed as a site for considerable development in the new Local Development Plan.
Properties
The properties are in the main located off a minor road which runs from the dual carriageway almost to the sea. It is a mainly residential area but there is a small industrial site to the North of the village.
Public Transport
The bus service is relatively good as busses serving Ellon, Fraserburgh and Peterhead pass the end of the village road. Most residents however, use private cars for transport.
Shops and Services
The nearest local shops and post offices are in Potterton or Balmedie. The primary school is at Balmedie and secondary school children are bussed to Bridge of Don Academy. The nearest doctors' surgery is in Bridge of Don but there is an alternative medical centre in Ellon.
