Potterton Project

Following  a very successful ‘Planning for Real’ exercise in Balmedie in 2008, Belhelvie Community Council identified the need to run a similar project for the other villages in Mid Formartine. The aim of the project was to gain feedback from the villagers (of Potterton, Blackdog, Belhelvie and Whitecairns)  with regard to issues relating to their village and also to identify where monies could be spent on improvements in facilities or services.

Approx 80 People Attend (Are You In the Pictures?)

The event took place at Potterton Community Centre on Saturday 4th September and was attended by approx 80 people who came along to look at large scale maps of each village and to give comments and feedback on all aspects of their villages.

Initial Analysis

"We invited people to attach ‘comments’ cards to the maps and have received 770 cards in total covering a very wide range of subjects," said Wishart McBride the Project Coordinator. "We now have the initial analysis of these comments and this highlights a wide range of potential projects to improve the villages."

Future Projects

Future projects will now be planned and details will be updated on this website to keep you informed.  E-Mails have been sent to those people who want to be directly involved. A large number of e-mail addresses were received on the day but if yours wasn’t one of them then please send your e-mail address to the contact address below and we will keep you up to date.

Next Steps

We have now conducted meetings for each village where the top 9 priorities which you raised were analysed to allow an action plan to be formed. This should be available very soon.

Thank You

Our thanks go to everyone who attended the village meetings and we hope you will help us transform the Action Plans into real projects that will benefit for your village.
